Description:

AABSyS digitized parts of a gas distribution network which included pipeline specifications. The final product is used for gas network maintenance and information storage.Scanned ground cadastre images (in TIFF format) were digitized for use in drawing the gas distribution system of a region in Germany. Ground cadastre maps were digitized as per client specifications. Plots, houses, streets were digitized as closed polygons. Object grouping for plots, houses, streets and their respective numbering was performed. All individual maps were merged with affined method of transformation to obtain a complete map of the region.As per the dimensions provided on individual raster images, gas pipelines were drawn on the pre-digitized maps with reference to the ground cadastre map. Wherever dimensions were missing, the raster image served as reference. Pipe-fittings and corresponding information were placed as block attributes. Pipelines were grouped with their respective specifications. Final quality control included the use of tailor made automated programs and manual tracking before delivery in DWG format.
