 GROUND CADASTRE PLANS IN AUTOCAD
Objective
Preparation of the digital 3D topographic maps.
Raster to Vector conversion of topographic maps is conducted in CAD based softwares such as AutoCAD, Microstation etc. Different features of the topographic maps such as contour lines, boundary lines, water areas, vegetation, forest areas etc, are captured or digitized in different layers to generate the topographic map in vector format. 3 D topographic mapping is done by assigning the Z-values to the contours to generate the 3D terrain model of the topography.

Description:
AABSyS executed a large-scale Topographic mapping and 3D topographic mapping project for the entire south of Belgium covering approximately 5000 square kilometers of area.
- AABSyS received about 80 hard copies of scale 1:10000 each. The work process involved scanning of the maps in tiff format, digitizing the topography of individual maps. Different features of the topography such as contour lines, boundary lines, rivers, lakes, forest areas, vegetation areas, dwelling areas, houses, fields, roads, streets, etc, were digitized in specific layers. All the maps were individually digitized and georeferenced. Adjacent maps were then edge matched and seamlessly merged to generate a single map for the entire area.
- Z-Value was assigned to the contours to generate the 3D topographic map in vector format.
AABSyS has similarly executed several topographic mapping and 3D topographic mapping projects for its customers in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and The Netherlands.
